To become a judge in Korea you'd better get some judicial experience that is starting in 2013.
The National Assembly's special committee on judicial reform is set to pass a bill dubbed the "experienced judge system" tomorrow.
With bi-partisan support at the legislature‚ the bill is expected to pass the general session this month and take effect two years later.
The experience requirement is to gradually increase from three years to 10 starting in 2022.
Before‚ Korean judges were appointed after graduation from the Justice Ministry's Judicial Research and Training Institute‚ even without legal experience.
Meanwhile‚ the Foreign Affairs Committee passed a bill today to establish a school for training diplomats and abolish the foreign service exam.
The school‚ set to begin operations in 2013‚ plans to graduate 40 people a year to work at the Foreign Ministry.
