The Korean government has announced travel warnings for Tokyo and other quake-ravaged regions in response to ongoing aftershocks there‚ as well as the threats posed by further tsunamis and radiation exposure.
Seoul's Foreign Ministry says it has placed the Japanese capital and the Chiba Prefecture at level 1‚ which advises travelers to take cautionmarking the first time that the Korean government has enforced a travel warning on Tokyo.
And Seoul has issued a level 2 warning for Japan's northeastern prefectures of Ibaraki‚ Iwate‚ Aomori‚ Fukushima and Miyagi‚ the warning calls on Koreans to refrain from visiting those areas.
A level 3 warning‚ which restricts Korean citizens access‚ has been announced for the 30-kilometer radius around the Daichi nuclear plant in Fukushima‚ which some experts fear could meltdown.
