The Korean consulate office in Sendai has says it has lost contact with around 130 Korean nationals in the area.
About 45-hundred Koreans are said to be living in Miyagi Prefecture and the consulate office is trying to check up on the number of casualties and injuries.
A government official there‚ however‚ says‚ with the continuing aftershocks and no electricity‚ it is hard to follow up on the damage adding that the actual number of people missing would be much higher.
