There are those in China eager to be more vocal and are willing to be a part of a revolution.
Unfortunately the 3rd pro-democracy protests dubbed the Jasmine Protest proved to be unsuccessful for a number of reasons.
For one‚ planned protest sites were covered with police before any gathering had a chance of forming.
Plus‚ dozens of dissidents‚ human rights activists and critics of the government are in detention or house arrest.
The government intervention didn't end there they also disabled search engines from registering key words related with the protest including Jasmine.
The censorship only grew tighter as intense security and new restrictions were imposed on foreign reporters‚ some of whom were beaten and kicked by plainclothes security officers.
A spokeswoman for the city's government said that the "Jasmine Revolution" protests are doomed to fail as people want peace and stability and government policies are popular.
The world is moving swiftly toward democracy and freedom‚ and some wonder if the country that's quickly becoming a world leader can continue to rely on authoritarianism and restriction.
