Taiwan's President Ma Ying-jeou called for restraint against 'irrational' behavior after anti-Korean protests erupted last week in Taiwan over the disqualification of a Taiwanese taekwondo athlete at the Asian Games.
Last Wednesday martial artist Yang Shu-chun was disqualified during a taekwondo match after she was accused of having extra sensors in her socks.
The technician who reportedly discovered the sensors which are used to register kicks was a Korean national.
Taiwan's foreign ministry on Saturday called for public restraint and peaceful expressions of opinion saying that the incident "does not involve the South Korean government and people."
However Taiwan's government said Sunday that it would continue to consider taking suit to the international sports court on the matter.
