] "Along with Andy Warhol‚ Keith Haring is one of the most representative pop artists. He always placed great emphasis on the communication that exists between an artist and the public‚ and thus he opened a store called "Pop Shop." He was also keen on working with others‚ which is shown in some of his drawings like those of the subway or the building exteriors."
Using simple lines and bold primary colors‚ he has given birth to doodle-like drawings that never fail to leave a large impression on the admirers.
As one method of communicating with the public‚ he often drew on empty subway billboards using chalks.
Some of these graffiti drawn by Haring at subway stations gave birth to one of his most famous works‚ the Icon series‚ which in turn brought him instant fame. They are considered as his signature work that symbolizes purity‚ youth‚ and energy.
His simple messages dressed in intense colors have often been used in advertisements.

Through his unique vivacity‚ Haring lessens the gravity posed by some of the social issues that he addresses.
These drawings depict a black person of a formidable size who emits a sense of precariousness. They have been highly regarded for their effective portrayal of the black people's distress caused by racism.
This exhibition also features Keith Haring's more obscure pieces‚ which lack Haring's representative cheerfulness.
This is "Apocalypse‚" a series of drawings on silk screens that accompanied the work of William Burroughs in 1988.
The "Andy Mouse" series‚ dedicated by Haring to Andy Warhol‚ is equally interesting.
These two artists were famous for their friendship. Here Haring created the character "Andy Mouse" by using sunglasses‚ a wig‚ and large Mickey Mouse's ears.
Some works even changed his image. With this drawing that tells the story of people who are trapped in a deep valley forever‚ Haring shedded his image of being a commercial artist and began to be recognized as a serious one.
