China plans to send a special envoy to North Korea as part of efforts to restart the six-party talks to denuclearize North Korea.
Chinese media reports say Beijing wants to put more effort into persuading Pyeongyang to return to the talks which have been suspended for five months now.
After the United Nations denounced Pyeongyang's April 5th rocket launch the communist regime announced it would no longer participate in the multilateral dialogue and said that any agreements from the talks would not be binding.
A strong candidate for the special envoy position is Wang Jiarui the chief of the Chinese Communist Party's International Liaison Department who met with Kim Jong-il in January.
