Korea has been chosen as the host country of the 2009 Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Ministerial Council‚ the third meeting of its kind.
The decision was made Friday by senior government officials from six countries in the Asia Pacific region who gathered in Goa‚ India‚ to discuss measures to help facilitate intra-regional trade.
Seoul's Vice Finance Minister Kim Seokdong was among the participants to the second Ministerial Council of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement or APTA.
The APTA‚ previously known as the Bangkok Agreement‚ is an accord signed in 1975‚ to promote regional trade through mutual concessions by member countries‚ including India‚ China‚ Bangladesh‚ Sri Lanka and Laos.
