South Korea's top diplomat says North Korea will be rewarded‚ if it gives up its nuclear ambitions.
In Wednesday's press briefing‚ Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon urged the North to recognize that there is a "bright and good future" once the communist state dismantles its nuclear arsenal.
Minister Ban said that if this happens‚ he believes relations between Pyeongyang and Washington will head towards a positive direction.
He pointed to Libya as such an example.
In a bid to restart the stalled‚ six-party talks‚ Washington's chief nuclear envoy Christopher Hill will be flying in to Seoul next Thursday.
Minister Ban says Mr. Hill will be meeting his South Korean counterpart and top officials here‚ to discuss the nuclear issue as well as bilateral matters.
