Korea's multifunctional administrative city of Sejong‚ which is scheduled to be the home to most government ministries and agencies by next year‚ is a landmark project designed to spread out the population and growth that is normally concentrated in the metropolitan Seoul area.

These officials‚ here for two weeks of training are on a national tour to learn from Korea's industrial and economic growth.
This is the step one of a three-year training program agreed upon by Seoul and Hanoi.
"We were always interested in Korea's remarkable economic growth and development and here we notice that such achievements were made possible by very detailed government-led actions and policies."
Vietnam is Korea's 6th biggest export partner and Korea's trade volume with Vietnam exceeded 20 billion dollars last year‚ while at the same time exceeding 10 billion dollars in trade surplus.
The officials also paid a visit to Federation of Korean Industries to meet with South Korean businessmen as well as Korea's Saemaul Undong headquarters to get tips on modernizing Vietnam's mostly rural and agricultural villages.
"We pass on our experience overcoming the Asian financial crisis and also share our vision for the future. Vietnam is also interested in Korea's advanced technologies‚ such as e-governance."
The two-way program continues back in Hanoi -- with Korean officials dispatched to train their counterparts on site.
