The source behind the biggest intelligence leak in U.S. history has come out of the shadows to explain his motives.
In an interview with the Guardian newspaper‚ 29-year-old Edward Snowden‚ a former technical worker for the CIA and a current employee of the defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton‚ said his decision to leak confidential National Security Agency info was a matter of conscience.
Snowden said he couldn't sit back and allow the U.S. government to destroy privacy‚ internet freedom and basic liberties with the huge surveillance system it's secretly building.
