Israeli authorities say the last of their troops pulled out of the Gaza Strip before dawn Wednesday marking an end to the military operation that claimed some one‚300 Palestinian lives. The soldiers have been re-aligned on the Israeli side of the border reportedly prepared for action should Hamas choose to violate the terms of their fragile cease-fire.
Israel's top diplomat meanwhile is in Europe seeking support to bring an end to the smuggling of weapons into Gaza. In related news. US President Barack Obama called the Palestinian president and the leaders of Israel Jordan and Egypt in line with his pledge to pursue peace in the Middle East from his first day in office.
