This week in Germany rail industry players were eager to show off the reengineered potential of an express freight train that left Beijing‚ China two weeks ago.

This express freight train was greeted at the end of its journey with flashes of fire crackers and cameras.
Onlookers gathered to witness the end of a 10‚kilometer trip from Beijing to Hamburg that could be the start of a big change in cargo transportation between Asia and Europe.
The cargo train‚ manufactured by German Die Deutsche Bahn AG‚ flagged off its experimental journey from Beijing two weeks ago‚ passing through four different countries: Mongolia‚ Russia‚ Belarus and Poland‚ to arrive in Hamburg on Thursday.
This train is twice as quick as the traditional 40-day sea route‚ which forces cargo haulers to travel an additional 10-thousand kilometers.
The train's operators have already cut off five days from an original 20.
''We managed to finish this route in 15 days‚ and we know that we can be even faster.''
Operators still have to wade through border regulations among the four relevant countries.
But the new addition promises to have a big impact on the flow of goods between the two continents as the EU is China's biggest export market and China continues its huge economic growth.
