That was Park Jong-Woo 6-months ago when he thoughtlessly and foolishly held up a sign that read "Dokdo is our territory" after Korea beat Japan for the bronze medal in Olympic Soccer.
Finally that moment can be put to rest as Park Jong-Woo was granted his bronze medal by the International Olympic Committee yesterday
After pleading his case before the IOC with an international lawyer and representatives from the KOC and the KFA‚ Park Jong-Woo was told he could receive his medal.
He was given a stern warning from the IOC and the KOC was also ordered to set up a program to better educate their athletes of their expected conduct and consequenses of what is acceptable.
The Olympics strictly does not allow the games to be used as a political stage.
