There was the iPod‚ iTunes and the iPhone now‚ Cupertino‚ California-based Apple will be adding its own brand of TV sets to its lineup of products by 2011.
That's according to Gene Munster an analyst for investment bank and brokerage Piper Jaffray.
Munster says the TV sets will offer multimedia functions‚ as well as subscription-based viewing.
Apple is viewed as being well suited to compete in that market by using the strategy it applied to its previous successes which offered better functions in existing devices such as MP3 players and cell phones.
Munster compared the state of the TV set market which has seen significant declines in prices over the last several years to that of the cell phone market‚ which also saw prices plummet before the release of the iPhone.
