And what a heartwarming story it is. It's great to see regular people helping to turn a great story into what is‚ hopefully‚ a great film.
That's right‚ and I think all of this was possible because people are so well-informed these days. Because if people hadn't know the real story behind the film‚ I don't think it would've been possible at all.
Well‚ crowdfunding seems like another great idea for filmmakers to think about. But you have another event that definitely does not have any trouble with funds‚ correct?
That's right.
At this time of year‚ many fans of American football are excited about the biggest game of the year‚ but just as many fans of great advertising are ecstatic as well‚ because this is when the biggest ad companies bring out their best commercials.
It's the time of year that fans have been waiting for -- it's time for the year's best commercials.
That's right -- the Superbowl‚ the biggest game of the year for the American sport of football‚ has traditionally had the highest prices for the air time in between plays‚ and this year was no different.
This year‚ a 30-second spot cost a whopping $4 million U.S. dollars.
And once again‚ cars‚ celebrities and humor dominated the fare.
The most anticipated commercials included offerings from two top Korean companies.
Korean automaker Kia -- whose hamsters were a huge hit last year -- has engaged Laurence Fishburne to reprise his role as Morpheus from "The Matrix" series.
Korean automaker Hyundai will also be showing an ad for its brand new luxury Genesis sedan.
And the point of the flashy and flamboyant ads that air during the big game?
"You are being watched by a room full of loud people paying attention to the game‚ sometimes drunk. So we have a saying around here‚ 'You gotta reach the drunk guy in the back of the room.'"
Fashion brand H&M is again featuring international soccer star David Beckham to advertise its products.
It has also joined forces with television maker Samsung for an interesting marketing twist.
"H&M is the first brand doing t-commercials during the Super Bowl. So we are going to mean if you have a Samsung smart TV while you are watching the game‚ and you see the commercial‚ the collection will appear around the commercial."
These are just the tip of the iceberg‚ along with a slew of other big name companies‚ such as Coca-Cola‚ Budweiser and Jaguar‚ all featuring their best commercials with enough big name celebrities starring in the ads‚ to make even the best film directors jealous.
These are some of the best‚ if not the best‚ commercials of the year.
I'd agree‚ and with the prevalence of social media‚ one good ad can go viral in an instant and have huge marketing rewards.
And even with the big game now over‚ the ads continue to be what many people talk about‚ so in many cases it is a great investment for the companies.
Alright. I guess we'll have to wait and see which commercials everybody keeps talking about.
