Sejong General Hospital‚ Korea's first hospital to specialize in heart disease‚ will be set up in cooperation with a local company in Kazakhstan named Arlan & Systems.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the hospital to be called the Sejong-Eurasia hospital took place on Tuesday in Almaty‚ marking the very start of the project.
Around 50 guests from Sejong hospital and Kazakhstan's health ministry were in attendance.
Officials say the hospital will reflect Korea's highly advanced medical care system‚ as Sejong hospital will be providing the technology and know-how‚ while the local company will take care of finances.

Sejong General Hospital] "We will be training all the doctors and nurses at the hospital. We will hand down our highly developed technologies so that the hospital can become a top notch medical facility‚ not just in Kazakhstan but the whole of central Asia."

And the head of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute expects more Korean hospitals to spread around the world.

Korea Health Industry Development Institute] "With the Sejong hospital successfully entering Kazakhstan's market‚ more Korean medical centers will try to expand overseas in various ways. Our institute will also set up a local branch here in Kazakhstan."
이번에 처음으로 해외 진출하면서 여러가지 형식의 해외진출이 있을 것 같은데‚ 외국의 의료기관의 위탁운영이라든지 카작 메디칼 센터 내에 지사는 직접 건립할 계획이다.
The director of the Sejong-Eurasia hospital says that he hopes the clinic will become the country's leading hospital in curing cardiovascular diseases.
Once open‚ the hospital will have a capacity of up to one-hundred patients.
