Turning to stocks‚
Japan's Nikkei fell by a whopping 10.6 percent on Tuesday due to concerns over radiation from the nuclear plants.
Add that to yesterday's losses and the Japan's main index has lost over 16-percent of its value in just two days‚ its biggest decline since the crash in 1987.
As for Korea‚ shares in Seoul traded lower for the same reasons.
The benchmark KOSPI lost 47.3 points to end at just under 19-24 while the tech-heavy KOSDAQ lost 13-and-a-half points to finish at 4-hundred-89.
On the FX counter the Korean currency weakened by about 5 won to close at 1‚1-hundred-and-34.8 against the US dollar.
