A Korean Navy ship salvage unit has recovered the body of a maritime police officer inside the fuselage of a helicopter that crashed into the sea last month near Jeju Island.
The Jeju maritime police said in addition to the one mechanic and the helicopter's black box found today at about 7pm‚ the bodies of three other crew members are still missing.
An official added that because the man's body was found stuck near the door of the helicopter‚ there is a high probability the others drifted away from the sunken wreckage.
The Navy salvage ship Cheonghaejin was expected to take about five hours to haul the fuselage back to port at Jeju meaning it would arrive sometime after midnight.
