The ancient medical book Dongui Bogam ‚ which was compiled by the royal physician Heo Jun will be translated into English for the first time.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare said Thursday that all 25 volumes of Dongui Bogam‚ which is the only medical book that's on UNESCO's Memory of the World Program‚ will be translated into English by 2013.
A ministry official saysthat Heo Jun's masterpiece can now be shared with people from around the world.
Dongui Bogam was first published in 1613 during the Joseon Dynasty and has served as a key reference book in many East Asian countries‚ including China and Japan.
