Seoul's new landmark‚ the "floating islands‚" or three man-made islands located on the Han River‚ are expected to open to the public by late May.
The city government announced on Wednesday‚ that the interiors of the facilities are currently under construction while the exteriors are almost complete.
The "floating islands‚" a project worth 96 billion won or roughly 86 million US dollars‚ were launched by the city in 2008 with the aim of turning the islands into venues for cultural performances‚ exhibits and water sports.
