South Korea's defense chief says Mount Geumgang in North Korea is believed to be the origin of the recent jamming of South Korean GPS signals.
Seoul's Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin told a parliamentary session Wednesday that the signals were traced to Mount Geumgang and also the North's western border city of Gaesong.
Kim added that he will reinforce measures to deal with future electronic attacks by Pyeongyang.
The North's latest electronic attack was aimed at disrupting the joint military exercises currently underway between South Korea and the US.
Kim‚ however‚ said the North's attempt to block military communications was ineffective since the South uses a military-only satellite navigation system.
