Crude oil prices have risen steeply on concerns that supplies could be disrupted due to the unrest in Libya.
The Korea National Oil Corporation says that Dubai crude futures jumped more than 6 US dollars to settle at 110 dollars and 77 cents a barrel on Thursday‚ the highest price recorded since September 2008.
In London‚ North Sea Brent crude for April delivery climbed 11 cents to end at 111 dollars and 36 cents a barrel.
However‚ West Texas Intermediate crude futures went down 82 cents to 97 dollars and 28 cents a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange‚ amid reports of a rise in US inventories and Saudi Arabia's pledge to increase crude production.
