The holiday fever isn't quite over yet here in Korea as another day of rituals follows right after the Lunar New Year holiday on February 3rd.
February 17th is "Jeongwol Daeboreum" a holiday that celebrates the first full moon of the Lunar New Year.
And a special festival took place at the National Gugak Center in Seoul to help more people enjoy this holiday.
[Reporter : Lee Ji-yoon‚ jiyoonjlee@arirang.co.kr
] "This festival gives a unique opportunity for people to try out various Korean traditional food and folk games as well as pass on their wishes to the full moon."
Various cultural activities including Jegichagi‚ or Korean hacky sack‚ Tuho‚ a traditional Korean game of throwing arrows into a barrel‚ and Beona ‚ spinning hoops and dishes‚ attracted children and adults alike despite the cold weather.
[Interview : Kim Jin-sook‚ Visitor] "I didn't get to play these traditional games when I was young so I came with my child today to enjoy this holiday with her."
The day is celebrated with various unique traditions such as cracking bureom‚ various shelled nuts‚ and eating them together for good fortune.
Kang Yeo-joo‚ who is in charge of this year's festival‚ says she hopes to see more people learn and appreciate the first full moon holiday.

] "Not a lot of people are aware of this holiday‚ Jeongwol Daeboreum‚ these days. So we put together a variety of fun events this year to help more people enjoy and learn about it."
A Korean folk performance called "Jindo Myeongdarigut" welcomed some 3-hundred visitors at the Yeakdang on this day.
This performance from the Jindo region is an exorcism performed to pray for the long life of a child who is destined to have a short life according to his fortune.
With music from live traditional instruments in the background‚ the performance provides a good variety of traditional dances and acts ranging from the Fan Dance‚ an Exorcism Dance to the Small Drum Dance.
[Interview : Noel McRobbie‚ Visitor from Canada] "I think the costumes were extremely colorful. You could see that there's a lot of artistry in the singing and dancing. I was very impressed for all the preparations."
The day ended with daljip taeugi ‚ literally translated as "burning moon houses‚" which is carried out by setting a straw heap on fire to drive away bad luck and wish for a good year.
Many of the participants said they had a wonderful time learning more about the holiday as they left with something special to remember under the full moon.
