Other witnesses say that they saw at least three protesters being shot and dozens of others being beaten up by police.
Meanwhile‚ the international community has expressed its firm support for the anti-government protestors and condemned the "hypocrisy" of the Iranian government.

Meanwhile‚ Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague has urged the Iranian leadership to allow its people to express their opinions freely and show restraint in dealing with protesters.
However‚ tension is rising in the country as the Iranian opposition leaders are planning another large-scale rally Friday to mark the 32nd anniversary of Iran's Islamic Revolution.
