Something big has just arrived on the electronic frontier.
A night before the Mobile World Congress the biggest international mobile exhibition opened its doors in Barcelona‚ Spain Samsung Electronics kicked things off with its own press conference in the city unpacking a handful of electronic goodies.
Last year‚ Samsung challenged Apple‚ the world's leading smartphone manufacturer‚ with its launch of the Galaxy S smartphone and the competition may get fiercer as its successor‚ the Galaxy S2‚ has only gotten better.

Samsung Electronics] "With the Galaxy S2‚ you just can see everything on a larger screen. And instantly access any application and services fully powered by the dual core processor. All in the thinnest and the lightest design ever."
Measuring 8.4-9 millimeters thin and weighing in at 116 grams the new model boasts a much slimmer and lighter design.
Under the hood‚ the Galaxy S2 promises blazing performance sporting a dual-core 1 GHz processor and using Android 2.3 Gingerbread‚ the latest version of the mobile operating system.
With a 4.2-7 inch Super AMOLED Plus display and an 8 megapixel camera the phone is also capable of recording full 1080 pixel HD videos.
And what was also unveiled at the night's event was the New Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet PC.
The new tablet runs the Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system on a bigger slate form with a 10 inch screen.
It sports a highprofile camera and camcorder like the Galaxy S2 and is equipped with dual surround sound speakers for the ultimate multimedia experience.
More than 2-thousand journalists from around the globe gathered for the event‚ and they say Samsung's newly-launched devices are enough to defend its title as one of the leaders in the mobile industry.
[Interview : Daniel Rubino‚ Journalist from US] "But Samsung has really proven themselves in the last year or two. I think before that it was a little unsure of where it was going‚ but they really picked up their stride and with these new products‚ I think they are continuing with that."
Experts say 2010 was a remarkable year for the mobile industry with Samsung playing a major role in the growth.
And they say this is just the beginning as demand for smartphones and tablet PCs will continue to grow steadily.
