South Korea has agreed that the Red Cross talks should resume between it and North Korea‚ however the details of such meetings are unclear and depend on the results of the two nations' military talks.
Seoul's Unification Ministry Deputy Spokeperson Lee Jong-joo announced at a press conference on Wednesday that the South had finally replied to Pyeongyang's request via the Panmunjeom channel.

Ministry of Unification] "South Korea's reply to the North on the proposal to resume the Red Cross talks is an agreement in principle‚ and the details should be discussed after the military talks are completed."
Lee added that the South Korean government sent a positive response to the North despite unresolved issues‚ such as the sinking of the South Korean Navy's Cheonan frigate and the shelling of Yeonpyeong Island last year.
Seoul believes that humanitarian issues‚ such as the reunions of separated families‚ should still be discussed and resolved.
North Korea originally proposed the resumption of the Red Cross talks on January 10th and February 1st‚ but South Korea did not respond‚ citing that Pyeongyang must first acknowledge its wrongdoings.
Meanwhile‚ the Unification Ministry has announced that it will respect the wishes of the 31 North Koreans who drifted into South Korean waters in the West Sea last week‚ in regards to whether or not they would like to stay in South Korea or return to the North.
