More children in Korea are developing unhealthy eating habits.
According to the Korea Food and Drugs Administration‚ nearly 12 percent of children eat ramyeon‚ or instant noodles‚ more than three times a week‚ with about 70 percent consuming the noodles at least once a week.
Meanwhile‚ only 14 percent consume fruits twice a week‚ while 30 percent eat vegetables.
The survey questioned about 23-hundred children from 10 to 11-years old about their eating habits‚ nutrition knowledge and the cleanliness of food sellers near schools.
A health expert said eating food like ramyeon too often can cause health problems such as obesity since the dish is high in calories.
The expert added that childhood is a vital time for one's physical development and recommended children consume more healthy foods.
