The number of travelers heading overseas increased more than 30 percent in the first half of this year compared to last year… thanks to a recovery in travel demand due to an improving domestic economy.
However‚ for those who are either too busy to leave the country or financially stretched thin there are places within the capital where one can experience the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle.

According to W Hotel representatives similar promotional packages were in high demand last summer due to the economic downturn and H1N1 virus fears… but this year despite the mass exodus abroad‚ the early onset of hot weather has helped attract local vacationers.

W Hotel has its own casino and duty-free shop‚ making it a convenient one-stop resting place for foreigners. In terms of guests‚ we've always had a lot of Japanese tourists‚ but this year we are noticing a surge in Chinese tourists as well."
Next destination is Banyan Tree‚ a 70-thousand square-meter resort nestled in the heart of Seoul that caters almost only to club members.

With only 35 rooms every Banyan Tree Hotel suite has its own personal relaxation pool‚ champagne and a breathtaking view of the city.
Its spa facilities are unmatched by any other in Korea‚ as well.
For something lower on the price scale another option is to head to the Imperial Palace Hotel in Nonhyeon-dong‚ southern Seoul.
Its rooftop pool holds a barbeque every weekend during the summer and the entrance fee is much cheaper than mainstream hotels.
