Believe it or not‚ this is what some of the men had to say about guys wearing make-up.
It seems more and more men in Korea are embracing metrosexuality and feeling that it is no longer taboo for guys to wear a little bit of foundation as long as it gives off a natural look.
Take this 28-year-old for instance.
He says the first thing he does when he wakes up in the morning is apply basic skin care products and cosmetics to improve his overall appearance.
From foundation to mascara and even lip-gloss‚ for this beauty blogger who has spent roughly 90-thousand US dollar on cosmetics alone there is no shame in rocking eyeliner or any other type of make-up for that matter.
[Interview : Lee Byung-Chul‚ Beauty blogger] "There is still a lot of stigmas surrounding men wearing make-up‚ but for me‚ the charm of make-up is like magic. Once you fall into it‚ it's an exciting and wonderful world."
Although this may all seem unnatural to some with so many top Korean actors and singers these days leading the trend by fashioning the smoky eye look and drawing in their eyebrows make-up has become an item that is a must for the trendy male.
According to the owner of this make-up studio if in the past‚ women felt the pressure to appeal to men by looking pretty‚ these days it is also the men who feel compelled to care about their outer appearance as it usually translates to having a competetive edge.

Owner of make-up studio] "I believe what's behind this trend is society's increasingly high standard for beauty and the competitive edge that comes with having good looks. Guys feel that this is one way to survive or get ahead in this competitive world."
At this plastic surgery clinic located in Seoul's upscale Gangnam district doctors say the amount of male patients has doubled over the past ten years with most wanting to improve their facial features so that they will have an advantage when they tackle the job market.

Plastic surgeon] "The most common procedures that men undergo are nose jobs. But as of late I've been noticing a surge in chin implants and facial contours are becoming popular‚ too."
And for those men out there who are secretly interested in improving the look of their skin without undergoing invasive procedures‚ here are some tips.
After a clean shave‚ make sure to thoroughly apply after shave and if that's not enough‚ try putting on a little bit of foundation or blemish balm cream around the eyes to give off the allusion of having the perfect skin.
