The White House denied Pyeongyang's claim Tuesday. that former United States President Bill Clinton delivered an informal message from President Barack Obama to the North Korean leader Kim Jong-il.
White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs said during a regular briefing Tuesday that there was no such written or verbal message.

The spokesman then added that he will hopefully present more details at a later point.
But is the White House entitled to updates on Clinton's discussions with Kim Jong-il if the trip was simply a private mission Former US ambassador to the United Nations‚ John Bolton for example raised a point Tuesday that there is nothing private about the trip by the former US President who is married to the secretary of state.
He also citicized that the talks in Pyeongyang were perilously close to negotiating with terrorists.
So Washington now needs to stress that they are looking at detainment and other issues separately because the visit to Pyeongyang could be seen as a sign that the US will reward North Korea.
Despite criticisms that the Obama administration is about to change its approach to the communist regime North Korea experts say that the two sides are maybe looking at the same road ahead.

And experts say that it will be burdensome for Washington to redirect its North Korea policies anytime soon after months of taking the lead in sanctioning against the communist state.
