Hyundai Motor's new car model the Genesis has risen to become the most popular midsize premium car in the United States.
According to a study by the California-based firm JD Power the Genesis received over 8-hundred-60 points out of a total of 1000 ranking first in the premium midsize car category beating out its closest rivals Britain's Jaguar XF and Germany's BMW 5-series.
The research covered over 80-thousand car purchases and measured consumer satisfaction over the first 90 days of ownership.
The Genesis was also the first Korean car to be selected as the "Car of the Year" in North America at the beginning of this year.
The model has also won a series of safety awards in the US.
Over 7-thousand units are said to have been sold in the US auto market during the first half of this year.
