Japan's top diplomat Hirofumi Nakasone is arriving in Seoul Tuesday to hold ministerial talks with Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan.
The two officials will meet Wednesday morning to touch upon issues of mutual interest ranging from joint efforts in dealing with the global financial turmoil to North Korea's nuclear pursuits. Also before returning to Japan Mr. Nakasone is expected to make a courtesy call on President Lee Myung-bak.
This is the Japanese Foreign Minister's first visit to Korea since he was appointed to the post in September of last year.
