Bibimbap‚ a mix of rice‚ vegetables and red pepper paste‚ is found to be the most popular Korean dish among foreigners.
Seoul's agriculture and tourism ministries have released a list of the 12 most enjoyed Korean dishes outside the country's borders.
The list also includes Korean-style chicken soup‚ which has a whole chicken in the soup together with Korean ginseng and rice.
Gal-bi‚ a kind of barbecued beef rib‚ usually cooked right at the table‚ also made the list.
The revelation comes as part of the government's effort to globalize Korean cuisine and to publish the recipes of 100 Korean dishes in English‚ Japanese and Chinese.
On Monday‚ foreign diplomats‚ ambassadors as well as foreign media personnel will be invited to a reception in southern Seoul‚ where they can taste all dishes on the top 12 list.
