Well‚ Sunny‚ Paris is not the only place where people are celebrating in Korea; hundreds of thousands of Yeosu residents are also popping champagne bottles as they have been long-waiting to do that.
Many resident in Yeosu‚ Korea stayed up all night waiting for the final vote coming from Paris.
Now‚ right after the name Yeosu was called out all of them started to celebrate in Yeosu.
Many of them are singing‚ dancing and hugging‚ enjoying the moment in every way they can.
And there will definitely be more celebrations when the Korean delegation in Paris arrive in Korea Wednesday morning‚ Korea time.
Yeojeong‚ can you briefly walk us through the efforts that the city and its residents have put to ensure that the world fair comes to Korea.
Well‚ Sunny‚ basically all concerned individuals were very busy promote Yeosu and what Yeosu has to offer that is beautiful marine environment AND very welcoming people.
Yeosu residents have been participating in a ''Clean‚ Order‚ Friendly‚ Service'' campaign highlighting their desire to host visitors from home and abroad.
They say the city's natural beauty with more than 300 islands goes along well with its nature-focused theme‚ ''Living Ocean and Coast‚'' which explores the sustainability of the world's seas and coasts.
Yeosu 2012 World Expo would focus on three major categories that deal with coastal development‚ new energy technologies and cultural activities.
Now until 2012 Yeosu will busily prepare to accommodate visitors estimated to reach eight million people from more than 80 countries.
