Demand has been rising for Korea's water resource technology overseas.
The government of Cambodia has turned to the state-run Korea Water Resources Corporation for a four-year project on the upper reaches of the Mekong River.
The project is aimed at reinforcing components of the water supply system in the river basin that are prone to breakdown due to their age and poor condition.
Under the 2-and-a-half million U.S. dollar agreement‚ the Korean water agency will carry out project design and assist Cambodian authorities to prepare for the overhaul.
Officials say 11 water-related projects have been completed in 9 countries and 9 more are ongoing in 7 countries.
