The recently-launched United New Democratic Party has elected its first floor leader.
Kim Hyosuk‚ formerly of the New Millennium Democratic Party‚ was elected into his new position today at an assembly of party law makers.
Kim was one of the first to leave his former party on July 24th and this was seen to have provided the momentum needed to build the United New Democratic Party.
The party was launched this past Sunday and is comprised of law makers from the liberal Uri and New Millennium Democratic parties and members of progressive civic groups.
Kim is a second-time law maker and was once the floor leader of his former party.
