요약정보
Meanwhile‚ people around the world are joining the call for the Taliban to free the hostages.
One civic organization has collected tens of thousands of signatures online‚ demanding the militants honor their own religious code by letting the aid workers go.
Kang Chery has more.
The world is raising its concern over the hostage crisis in Afghanistan in one voice.
A petition drive by an international civic group is gaining worldwide support in its demand for the safe release of the Korean hostages.
Avaaz.org‚ an online group of over one million members in some 200 countries‚ is urging the Taliban to honor the code of the Pashtun people‚ respect aid workers as guests in Afghanistan and release all hostages unharmed.
Avaaz.org. is a social activist pressure group that promotes progressive political action on issues such as climate change and religious conflicts.
More than 83 thousand people had signed the petition as of Monday‚ Korea time and that number is growing each day.
Paul Hilder‚ campaign director of Avaaz.org‚ says the kidnapping and killings of the hostages‚ in particular‚ go directly against Pashtun and Islamic moral code.
He adds that the organization hopes to exert its influence in resolving this matter.
''It's also a message of recognition of the Pashtun and Islamic moral code which we will have‚ kind of‚ impact locally.''
It also warns that more hostage killings could force aid agencies to pull out of the country.
''The Taliban rely on the support‚ explicit or tacit‚ on local tribes. They are operating in guerilla war so they need a certain level of support. Taking an action like this which goes against the Pashtun moral code violates that minimal legitimacy.''
The group has raised its original petition goal of 50 thousand signatures‚ four times so far to 85 thousand.
Avaaz means ''voice'' or ''song'' in many of the Urdu-based languages of Central Asia.
Avaaz.org has already published the petition in Pashtun‚ which is the native language of Afghanistan‚ on the Web and is definitely sending the voice of the international community.
