Internet giant Google has agreed to pay out some $19-million-dollars in refunds to parents who were unfairly charged for purchases built into children's video games.
The settlement was announced by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission‚ after thousands of complaints were filed by parents whose credit cards were racked up by their children who played games like Ice Age Village and Air Penguins.
Google said it revised its billing practices in March‚ so that parents are given a choice of whether or not to require a password when their kids bought virtual tools in the game. Reporter : eunice.kim@arirang.co.kr
