The 115 cardinal-electors began their conclave by attending mass at St. Peter's Basilica.
The cardinals will swear an oath of secrecy and proceed into the Sistine Chapel around midnight Korea time‚ after which time they'll get down to business.
The cardinals will lock themselves in the Chapel and begin writing names on rectangular pieces of paper‚ the names of those they want as the next pope.
Cardinals are not allowed to vote for themselves.
Once all the votes are cast‚ the ballots are tallied by three cardinals and the results are read aloud.
