Men in the Sun will be performed in various West Bank theaters.
Over in Taiwan‚ a refreshing change is brewing for one of their biggest traditional rituals.
The seventh month of their lunar calendar is considered the ghost month.
That's when the spirits are believed to be very hungry‚ and incense and paper money are burned to appease them.
But in tune with the government's efforts to reduce carbon emission‚ six bakeries in Tainan City are creating incense and paper money using edible cookies and cakes.
The Evergreen Plaza Hotel bakery created an edible stack of paper money with a layered mango cake and incense sticks with chocolate glazed baked spaghetti strips.
The words longevity‚ prosperity and good fortune are spray painted on top of the cakes.
According to its creator‚ the thin layers of cakes must be baked under high temperature for a very short span of time in order to get the desired color.
Some fear that such offerings might offend the spirits‚ and that eating such offerings would be disrespectful to the other world.
Others welcome the idea‚ saying that their ancestors might appreciate something new being offered.
