Experts say that in order to make devices like these commercially viable‚ what's needed is a new generation of mobile communications technology that's faster and can deal with an enormous amount of data.

Korea's three domestic mobile carriers are playing a leading role in promoting the IoT market at the event in Barcelona.
And they're showcasing their latest 5G platforms‚ with a heavy emphasis on the fact that the network is a thousand times faster than the existing 4G LTE networks.
