What do you have for us today?
Today we'll be taking a look at a recently opened musical‚.. another Broadway hit making it's round here in Korea.
Also‚ there are a couple more performances that show the various music and dance abilities of the city.

It's a musical‚ where the singing is just as important as the dancing.
"42nd Street" was first converted to a Broadway musical in the '80s and has been shown on stages around the world.
Set during the height of the Great Depression‚ this tap dancing bonanza fills the stage and the air with its upbeat and memorable music.
The musical made its debut in Korea in 1996‚ and was an instant hit‚ now being shown in the country for the 11th time.

"People can always relate to stories of dreams regardless of the time period. This performance is something that will get everyone's heart racing with the tap dancing and energy."
Beethoven is a pillar in classical music‚ tackled by many conductors around the world‚ and now Korea's own conductor of the people is showcasing Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C minor.
Gum Nanse has been striving to connect the Korean public with Western classical music‚ and in this second installment of the series of Beethoven performances‚ Gum brings Beethoven's most well-known pieces to the stage.
The Korea National Contemporary Dance Company is one of Korea's leaders when it comes to modern and contemporary dance.
Their latest performance "Detour Space" is set to hit the stage later this week‚ with a nostalgic performance that aims to bring back a trend seen during the '80s and '90s where small theaters‚ sometimes called "Gonggan Sarang‚" were the hot places to perform.

This is just one of the many big musicals we've seen this summer.
Is this also the work of CJ Entertainment?
They've been quite active lately in producing musicals here in Korea.
CJ Entertainment is a giant when it comes to the industry and they've been using their force to push the success of musicals.
This has really led to an expansion of the musical industry here in Korea‚ as they really want to use the musical as the next wave for Hallyu or the Korean wave.
I would imagine they would have collaborations across the board with CJ Entertainment involved in the game.
Yes‚ they actually do have a collaboration with the K-pop jazz band Winterplay.
With the cast of the musical‚ they've produced a new song "Dream Your Dream" which is also in celebration of the launch of the musical.
Let's shift directions a bit.
You also mentioned that this Beethoven concert is the second performance.
What else do they have planned?
This is a really interesting performance because it's being led by Conductor Gum‚ who is really making an effort to be the people's conductor.
He's taking the better known classical pieces and presenting it to the audience.
This series of performances is being called a "Beethoven Vacation" series‚ so there are 4 performances total.
This is the second performance and they will have two more later this year‚ each with different themes.
