Korea's National Assembly hosted a fashion show on Tuesday with the aim of raising money to help children in Africa's poorest countries.
Attended by senior lawmakers as well as celebrities‚ Assemblywoman Chung Ok-nim hosted the show along with Korean designer Chang Kwan-hyo to raise awareness for the plight of disadvantaged children and also to continue Korea's contribution for the needy around the world.

I‚ as a member of the Korean National Assembly‚ would like to show to the people that we are ready to provide aid to those countries in Africa with starving children‚ that we have to take a very important role as the people of the Republic of Korea."
The money raised at the first ever fashion show to be held at the legislature will be donated to a program for the United Nations Children's Fund to help children in the African countries of Uganda‚ the Congo‚ and Kenya.
And one of Korea's leading men's wear designers said he is grateful to have the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful event.

As Korean lawmakers widen their scope of activities‚ more diverse and productive outcomes can be achieved through these type of meaningful causes.
