Paik Nam-june some people thought he was crazy when he first appeared in the art scene in the 60s because back then‚ there was no such thing as electronic art.
Now people call him the pioneer of video art and his works are on display in renowned museums around the world.
This photographer who witnessed his art performance says he was so captivated that he couldn't keep his fingers off the camera shutter button.

Paik's signature piece "The More the Better" is comprised of 1‚3 television sets and stands 18 meters tall.
The technician who worked with Paik for more than 20 years‚ disassembled thousands of TV sets to make Paik's imaginations into reality.
He recalls Paik as a truly creative artist who demanded that he create something that didn't exist in real life.

Art Master ] "He had precise plans like a computer‚ but on the other hand he also had a friendlier side like a next door neighbor."
In an art gallery in Seoul‚ an exhibition took place displaying candid photographs of Paik and his Japanese wife Kubota Shigeko.
The museum director became close friends with Paik's wife who couldn't speak Korean very well.
She remembers Paik as a person with a pure heart.

"The future is now" said Paik.
These words summarize the essence of Paik's works which challenged conventional ideas and redefined the history of post-modern art.
Although he no longer is with us his legacy lives on through his timeless works and through the memories of his loved ones and fans.
