A world-renowned celebrity was in town.
American saxophonist Kenny G was in Seoul‚ to put on a performance that attracted thousands of fans‚ both young and old.

Our Kim Min-jung was there.
If the tag of biggest-selling instrumental artist of modern time doesn't ring a bell‚ maybe the curly golden locks will.
That's right‚ it's Kenny G.
The multi-award winner‚ who's sold 75-million albums worldwide and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame‚ was here to give his Korean fans‚ a concert to remember.
KENNY G‚ SAXOPHONIST: “This concert that we're playing tonight‚ is not just a concert number 4‚006 to me‚ it's an important concert because we don't come to Korea so often. What many people don't know is that he has a degree in accounting‚ and holds the world record for playing the longest note ever recorded on a saxophone; 45 minutes long!
How does he do it?
The secret is circular breathing‚ inhaling through the nose while exhaling out the mouth.
With all these tricks up his sleeves‚ what does he have to say to jazz buffs who criticize his pop jazz?
KENNY G‚ SAXOPHONIST: "I think you should just take music for what it is‚ within the style of music that we play‚ which people have now called smooth jazz‚ there are a lot of really great improvisations that is just as complicated as the traditional jazz."
Traditional jazz or not‚ fans‚ in Korea‚ where he's sold more than four-million albums‚ don't seem to care.
Some 8‚000 fans‚ many of whom are‚ in their 30s and 40s‚ went wild when Kenny G hit the stage in Seoul for the first time in six years.
RECORDED: "I've liked him for 15 years. When I first heard him on a CD‚ his saxophone sound was just so mellow."
KIM MIN-JUNG‚ REPORTER: "How was it meeting your fans?"
KENNY G‚ SAXOPHONIST: "It was fun‚ they were a little shy‚ but I enjoyed meeting them‚ they were very cute."
Korean music critics describe his melodic connection with local fans‚ as striking the right cord with the Korean soul‚ Kenny G calls it‚ a love affair.
