A number of foreign investment banks have issued upbeat forecasts for the Korean stock market.
Industry sources say Citigroup and Macquarie have cited Korea's stock market as having the best prospects in the region for 2007.
Citigroup says it expects a focus on market valuation to boost Korean stocks next year‚ while Macquarie Bank says foreign investors are likely to drive up the market.
Global credit rating agency Standard and Poor's also hold a bright forecast setting the target for the main KOSPI at 1‚770.
