Well‚ do you have something special for us on this Christmas Day[Reporter : Park Ji-won] Sure. I have‚ for you‚ the most popular ballet of the season - THAT is‚ of course‚ "The Nutcracker."
The Korean National Ballet has presented "The Nutcracker" every Christmas since the year 2000‚ and it has since become a perennial favorite‚ not only for ballet fans but also for anyone who loves the magic of the season.
This year is no exception and tickets sold out quickly for the week-long run that ends today.
"The Nutcracker" will definitely put you in the holiday mood‚ as it begins with a Christmas party.
Everyone is having a great time as young Marie is given a gift that makes her beam with joy.
It's a nutcracker‚ a present from her mysterious godfather.
But it's not long before her mischievous brother breaks the doll.
Heartbroken‚ Marie falls into a troubled sleep.
In her dream‚ the nutcracker doll transforms into a fine prince and he and Marie head off to Christmas Land.
After battling an army of mice‚ the two are honored by a group of life-sized toys who perform dances from Spain‚ Arabia‚ China‚ Russia and France.
This is followed by one of the most famous and enchanting dances of the ballet‚ "The Waltz of the Flowers."

Finally‚ Marie and her prince are wed in a happy ceremony.
But when Marie wakes up on Christmas morning‚ the sweetness of the adventure fades as she realizes it was all just a dream.
