This is the main principle regarding inter-Korean issues President Lee Myung-bak has held on to and will further work towardsduring his term in office.
At a meeting with chief editors of major newspapers and broadcasters in Korea‚ Monday morning‚ President Lee said the whole 'shape' of inter-Korean relations has changed.
South Korea's strong stance and rhetoric in dealing with North Korea over the past few years have brought some significant changes in the communist country's attitude.
Take the Gaeseong industrial complex for an example.
President Lee said after the South told the North that it could handle the losses that would result if all South Korean companies there pull out from the complex‚ North Korea stopped making unreasonable demands to the South Korean government.
He also stressed that North Koreans have become increasingly more familiar with what is happening in the outside world‚ especially in the South.
