Let us begin this Friday morning with news of heavy snowfall in the nation's eastern coast and freezing temperatures here in Seoul and across the country.
For more‚ let's go over to our Sara Ko standing by the Arirang Weather Center.
Good morning‚ Sara.
Good morning! It's a freezing start for most of our cities here in Korea at this early hour. Nation-wide temperatures have significantly plunged down to the high and mid negatives range this morning‚ and the strong winds that's blowing all across the country aren't on our side either because it's bringing our body temperatures even lower‚ close to negative degrees in some places. Now‚ I'm going to switch gears a little bit to the snow storm out on our Gangwon and North Gyeongsang Provinces‚ where snow hasn't stopped since yesterday‚ and of course these areas have been issued with heavy snowfall advisories and warnings‚ and this is causing a lot of difficulties out there because these places have accumulated more than centimeters of snow. Now‚ if we look closely to the amount of snowfall‚ city of Gangneung has received centimeters of snow‚ Dong-hae has already gotten centimeters and it looks like Sokcho has accumulated up to centimeters of snowfall. And I have even more disturbing news‚ these same places should expect close to another centimeters of more snow all throughout the day‚ until the precipitation gradually starts to halt in the afternoon hours. And if you're by the southwestern cities‚ you shouldn't let your guards down either because as snowclouds are formed out by the West Sea‚ Jeju island and the southewestern ports will receive up to centimeters of snow by tonight as well. So again‚ watch out for these hazardous snowy conditions if you're by these places‚ and stay tuned for upcoming weather forecasts Back to you guys in the studio!
Definitely a day to bundle up put on extra layers of clothing on this Friday.
